My rock solid PAM915 seems to be running slow at times. I'm not sure, but I think it is when i'm not wearing it for a few days. Advice - do I need to take it to the AD or Boutique - or can any watchmaker address a problem like this?
I'd rather not send the watch to the PAM service center for a simple regulation tweak, but until it starts running at some outrageously slow or fast rate, I probably won't do anything about it. I bought my 8 day Panerai a few months back and I swore it was losing 8-10spd. Not ideal, but I could live with it because it was a minute a week, and when I would do my Sunday wind I would just add a minute. Now it seems this watch is losing more like 15spd, more like 1 1/2 minutes a week. I do wear it all the time.
Anytime when your watch is running fast or slow, it is advisable to see a watchmaker and let them diagnose the cause for the inaccuracy. Most cases are resolved very simply by fine-tuning the watch on the timegrapher.
If you have a watch that you are not wearing, be sure to wind it at least once a month. This slows down the ageing process of the oils and lubrication. To clean the cases and metal bracelets and water-resistant use a toothbrush with soapy water and a soft cloth for drying. A watch technician with high end experience should be able to help, you should be about 1-2 min tops within 72 hours . This movement is awfully close to the ETA inners. Normally the caliber spring is very solid, it happens when the watch sits unwinded for a long, long time. However, after a week, I see that is running about 10 spd slow - based on 6 position average on my timegrapher (full wind), as well as on wrist performance after a week. This is much lower than what Panerai noted in their test data that came with the watch.

Just received a new Panerai 111h from a reputable dealer on here. Looks great but it is running very fast, gains over 5 minutes very hour. Is there any simple way of adjusting these watches or do I need to send it back?
