The French fashion house has increased the prices of their iconic designs such as the Classic Flap and Reissue bags by up to almost 5%.
Chanel prices for the timeless classic and re-issue bags will increase in the US starting November 15, 2017. A classic bag price increase has not happened since May 2014, approx 3.5 years ago. While Coco Handle prices have increased to about 10-15%, which have already taken effect. There have been especially notable pricing increases in 2021 and 2022. Instead of a single, yearly price increase, Chanel has incrementally bumped the price up every quarter. For example, between November 2021 and March 2022, the price underwent a 13% increase.
There were already rumors circulating about the price increase on the Chanel Classic Bags in the United States (US). Yet there were still many questions unanswered. Is the price increase only for the Classic Flap Bags or also the Boy Bags? And how about the mini items like the Wallets or the WOC’s?
