If you are taking a wrist shot from top down- 41mm will appear too big. I have a 6.6 inch flat wrist and the 41mm fits great for a more sporty vibe. I feel the 39mm better for dressy and 36mm for discrete wear.
Personally dress (even dress/sport) watches should not be as large as your actual sport watches and 39 mm is more than a reasonable sized diameter. DJ goes from 36 - 41 mm. The D/D is 40 mm. Try on a 15400 or a 15510 if possible - overall size is the same, but they will visually feel different due to the dial configurations.
